Abu Dhabi Firm's $500m Deal for Nova Chemicals Is Completed

An Abu Dhabi petrochemicals company completed its $500 million acquisition of Nova Chemicals Corp. in a deal that will allow Nova to continue operating its chemicals and plastics business from its North American base in Moon, the companies said Monday.

International Petroleum Investment Co., which is owned by Abu Dhabi's government, acquired all of Nova Chemicals' outstanding common stock for $6 per share. In the acquisition announced in April, IPIC will assume about $1.8 billion in Nova's debt.
