Summary
I agree with the first sentence of WVU law professor Anne Marie Lofaso's letter "Political interference" (Sept. 4 and TribLIVE.com): "Our country was founded on a principle that democracy functions best when the coercive power of the state is kept in check." However, I do not believe the problem is with U.S. Rep. Darrell Issa; in fact, I applaud his efforts.
I am not a legal scholar, but common sense asks what gives the National Labor Relations Board or any unelected bureaucratic entity the right to determine where a company can build a factory? The abuse of power comes from the Obama administration, not Issa's committee. If Obama cannot get his statist policies implemented through legislation, he uses regulatory agencies and unelected "czars" to enact excessive taxes and regulations on industries that do not fit his ideology and give breaks to others.See the full content of this document
