INDIANA -- Opponents of Blairsville-Saltsburg School District's controversial high school consolidation plan were the apparent victors in Tuesday's school board election.

Two write-in running mates who have stated their intent of halting the school jointure staged an upset over an incumbent board member, creating a new majority on the panel with the five votes needed to carry through with their promise.
