A federal jury today convicted a Beaver County drug dealer of paying someone to kill the father of a police informant in order to protect his narcotics empire and dissuade others from testifying against him.
Jelani Solomon, 28, of Beaver Falls, was found guilty on six drug and weapons-related counts, including conspiracy and using a firearm in a drug crime that resulted in murder. Frank Helisek Jr., 53, was gunned down in the doorway of his New Brighton home on Jan. 19, 2004.
