The Birmingham Bridge will remain closed for about two weeks while temporary supports are erected, PennDOT officials said Sunday.
The bridge over the Monongahela River was closed to traffic Friday after the superstructure on the southbound lanes shifted downward, causing the bridge deck to drop nearly 8 inches.
