Anyone trying to get in touch with the Right Rev. Keith L. Ackerman after Feb. 24 will have to direct his communications to Keller, Texas.

"There are mixed emotions of course," Ackerman, former Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Quincy, Ill., said. "We are leaving friends who are so dear to us, people who filled our lives with faith and love. But we are very pleased that our family will be together again."

Bishop Ackerman Retires, but He's Not Slowing Down

Ackerman, the former rector of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Charleroi, retired from his official duties with the Episcopal Diocese of Quincy in November. But he has not been idle since then and doesn't plan to be when he and his wife Joann return to Texas this month. Keller, part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, is a growing community with an anticipated population of more than 40,100 by next year.
