Bank of America's new CEO, Brian Moynihan, will make $950,000 a year, The Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.

The bank's board of directors has approved the salary, which is 19 percent more than Moynihan's 2008 base pay. Moynihan, 50, took over as CEO at the Charlotte, N.C.-based bank Jan. 1. He succeeded Ken Lewis, who typically received a base salary of $1.5 million.
