On a recent sunny afternoon, more than a dozen children ages 9 to 12 trooped inside the Sewickley Township Public Library and sat at the feet of librarian Mandy Luchs.

"Anybody read poetry?" she asked. "Sometimes we forget about that. Sometimes I think poetry gets a bad rap. Actually there's some pretty cool poetry out there."
