A Brookline man who police accused of smashing the skulls of three people with a dumbbell withdrew his guilty plea Thursday and said he wants a trial.

Ryan O'Connell, 28, was about to be sentenced by Common Pleas Judge Kevin G. Sasinoski when O'Connell announced -- unbeknownst to his defense attorney -- that he wanted a trial.
