Summary
Pitt senior Gilbert Brown, who was wildly inconsistent last season, was up-and-down Monday night. The 6-foot-6 forward missed his first five shots and sat the final 7:48 of the first half after picking up his second foul. But he made amends in the second half. He scored his first basket on a dunk with 15:43 to play and followed with a steal that led to an Ashton Gibbs layup. Brown finished with 10 points, six rebounds, three assists, two steals and four turnovers.
