Chemical Executives Demand Energy Supply Increase

Leaders of the chemical industry in the Pittsburgh region said Friday they want the federal government to take action to increase the energy supply available to their industry, one of a group of issues that will help them compete in world markets.

Officials from seven of the region's chemical companies presented the issues facing the industry during a "chemical industry summit" at the Regional Enterprise Tower, Downtown. They presented their case to representatives of the state's U.S. senators, two of the region's members of the U.S. House, and Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato.
