Voters are not ready to make the call on merging Pittsburgh and Allegheny County governments, said state lawmakers who met privately Wednesday in Pittsburgh.

"Our constituents just aren't prepared for it," said state Rep. Dan Frankel, D-Squirrel Hill, who arranged the lunch meeting at Point Park University, Downtown. "Our constituents share a sense of not only questions but suspicion, and so forth, that I think needs to be overcome."
