Summary
Pittsburgh City Council authorized a $250,000 payment today to the family of Veronica Bradley, a 72-year-old woman who died when her car hit a patch of ice and careened off the P.J. McArdle Roadway in January 2003.
In a lawsuit against the city, her estate's lawyer, Howard F. Messer, said the city was negligent because it did not remove ice from the road, which had accumulated due to a drainage problem. The settlement will be paid by the city's insurer. The money will go to Bradley's heirs.See the full content of this document
