Pittsburgh City Council on Tuesday mulled over purchasing ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection system that recognizes and locates the sound of gunfire through a system of listening sensors placed on top of buildings.
It triangulates the location, and then automatically alerts the 911 emergency system with location information.
