Cooke Sits Again for Pens

Summary

LW Matt Cooke(upper-body injury) missed a second consecutive game Saturday. He skated yesterday morning, but said a return Monday when the Penguins play at Boston was "pretty optimistic." Cooke's injury is in the general area of his rib cage. He said no bones are broken, but added he was not sure if a muscle was pulled. "I've had the same thing before," Cooke said. "It's one of those things that once you get over the grabbing part ... it just takes time."

Detroit Red Wings VP Steve Yzerman is the new executive director for the Canadian men's Olympic hockey club. The 2010 Winter Games will be played in Vancouver, and NHL players will participate. It is a safe bet Penguins C Sidney Crosby will play for Team Canada at those games. "It's pretty early, but I'd love to be a part of it," Crosby said. "Steve was always my hero growing up, so it would probably mean a little bit more knowing that."
