Pittsburgh Council Gives Historic Nod to August Wilson Home

Pittsburgh City Council today gave unanimous preliminary approval to designate the boyhood home of Pulitzer-Prize winning playwright August Wilson a protected historic structure.

Officials with the August Wilson Center in Pittsburgh are studying whether the dilapidated home on Bedford Avenue in the Hill District can be turned into an artist's loft or multi-purpose writer's workshop.
