Cranberry-Based Valve Company to Be Sold

Summary

Valve maker GA Industries Inc. of Cranberry is to be sold to Erie- based Zurn Industries LLC early next year for $76 million, Zurn's parent firm said Friday. The stock acquisition deal should close in the first quarter and is expected to expand the strategic water management business of Zurn's affiliate, Rexnord LLC of Milwaukee. GA Industries also has a facility in Mars, Butler County, and owns the Rodney Hunt Co. of Orange, Mass. Together they employ nearly 300 people and have annual sales of about $60 million. Rexnord acquired Zurn in February. Zurn's acquisition of GA Industries, in turn, is expected to expand its business with municipal water and wastewater, hydropower and industrial customers.
