Summary
Downtown Pittsburgh's first grocery store since 1994 is scheduled to open in mid-December with a new name, Rosebud Fine Food Market and Deli. The store, on the first floor of the 151-unit Encore at 7th Street apartment, originally was named Vidalia Fine Foods Market, but the name was changed because a market by that name operates in Philadelphia, said Robin Fernandez, owner. The last grocery store was the Market on the Square, attached to the G.C. Murphy store, which closed 13 years ago. Rosebud will offer a variety of foods including locally-grown produce, fresh and frozen seafood, meats and poultry, Boars Head deli meats and cheese, baked goods and prepared foods.
