Summary
The Duquesne City School District Board of Control approved a new three-year agreement with the district's 50 full-time teachers Tuesday evening. The contract, which calls for raises each year and a first-time employee contribution to health care, will not require an increase in taxes.
Teachers have been working without a contract since July 1. Under the new contract, which was approved unanimously, teachers will receive a 5.5 percent raise this year, a 5.7 percent raise for the 2010-11 school year and a 4.8 percent raise in the contract's final year. Over the next three years, teachers will expand their work day by 45 minutes and will add three days of professional development to their annual schedule.See the full content of this document
