Summary
The Atlantic 10 Conference named the entire Duquesne team as its Player of the Week on Sunday following a pair of victories last week to open the season. Duquesne, whose team was decimated by a Sept. 17 on-campus shooting, defeated Youngstown State, 81-75, on Monday and North Carolina Asheville, 77-76, on Saturday. Freshman Scott Grote averaged 20.5 points during the two games to lead five Dukes players who averaged double figures. It marks the first time in the 31-year history of the A-10 that an entire team has been honored with the award.
* The NCAA has ruled that former Duquesne recruit Hernol Hall has used up his college eligibility, rejecting Cincinnati's appeal to let him play this season. The 6-foot-10 Hall, 24, played two seasons at Lon Morris (Texas) College, where he was named a junior college All-American last season. He also played on the Costa Rica national team and on a team in Nicaragua. Hall originally committed to Duquesne under former coach Danny Nee but was granted a release after Nee resigned.See the full content of this document
