Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott will begin laying off as many as 160 contract lawyers beginning June 8, Tim Ryan, managing partner of the Downtown firm said Friday.
The contract lawyers have been engaged on a short-term basis to review "tens of millions of documents" and data pertaining to product-liability, employment and pharmaceutical litigation cases, which are winding down, said Ryan.
