Elevated Level of Chemical Found in Reserve Water Supply

Summary


A higher level of a potentially dangerous chemical has been detected in Reserve's water supply, according to township officials.

The contaminant Trihalomethanes, or THMs, is a byproduct of chlorine or other chemicals used to disinfect water. The maximum allowable level is 80 parts per billion. Water quality tests in Reserve found levels of 82.2 parts per billion.
