Summary


As a law enforcement officer and an agent of the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration, Douglas Cooper Taylor devoted more than 30 years of his life to the justice system. Today, more than a decade after retirement, he's still committed to righting wrongs.

Taylor, a 1956 graduate of Charleroi High School, perpetuates that dedication, experience and expertise to the International Justice Mission, a human rights agency that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery and oppression around the world.

Fallowfield Native Perpetuates Lifelong Commitment to Justice

IJM was founded in 1997, the group's Web site says, after a group of human rights professionals, lawyers and public officials engaged in an extensive study of the injustices witnessed by overseas missionaries and relief and development workers.

"We serve as advocates for victims who are left with no one to act on their behalf," Taylor, 68, said. "I try to do whatever is asked of me to bring relief and rescue to those who need it."
