Summary


No doubt hefty lawsuits will be filed against the City of Pittsburgh by the estates of the four poor souls whose fate brought them to hideous, watery deaths on Washington Boulevard on a day when the area was inundated. My layman's conclusion is that significant negligence will be attributed to the city.

A basic tenet of personal injury law is that when a government entity is placed on notice of a hazardous condition, it then has a duty to act to remedy it to protect the public.
