Fired Upper Burrell Woman Sues Nordstrom

Summary

An Upper Burrell woman filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday stating that she was fired from a sales position at the Nordstrom department store in Ross Park Mall when store officials misconstrued a straw and paper bag in her purse as drug paraphernalia during "a random bag search."

Catherine Czeczely says the straw came from one of her children's games and the bag had held a temporary tattoo. Czeczely is suing for invasion of privacy, wrongful discharge and defamation and is asking for unspecified compensatory and punitive damages.
