GlaxoSmithKline plc said Thursday it will divest such consumer health-care brands as its Alli diet pill and Lactacyd soap so the U.K. drugmaker can focus on "priority brands."
The company employs about 450 workers in Robinson, which is headquarters for Glaxo's North American consumer health care business. It manages, but does not manufacture, products in Robinson. Spokeswoman Malesia Dunn could not say yesterday how many local jobs would be affected by the drug maker's brand divestitures.
