Summary
Alan Wallace proposed a terrific idea -- airport-style people movers instead of light rail -- to save the Port Authority of Allegheny County's staggering North Shore Connector tunnel project in "Saturday Essay: Time to punt" (May 2 and TribLIVE.com). Unfortunately, if the Port Authority would adopt this idea, it would probably want to install two maglev trains.
