An Allegheny County judge today sentenced one of the suspects in a Westmoreland County torture-slaying case to two years of probation for an unrelated simple assault.
Ricky Smyrnes, 24, of Greensburg pleaded no contest to a charge of assaulting his wife, Karena Smyrnes, on Oct. 9 when they were living in McKeesport.
