Guilty Plea Expected in Beaver County Murder-for-Hire Case

Summary

The alleged triggerman in a 2004 Beaver County murder-for-hire case is expected to plead guilty Tuesday in federal court instead of going to trial and facing the death penalty.

Claron Hanner, 29, of Knoxville, is scheduled to appear at 11 a.m. before U.S. District Judge Terrence McVerry. Court filings do not state what charges he has agreed to plead guilty to. Charges against Hanner include drug and weapons offenses in connection with the Jan. 19, 2004, slaying of Frank Helisek Jr., 53.
