Gun Possession Ban Lifted for Fired Pittsburgh Officer

Summary


An Allegheny County judge signed an order Tuesday lifting a ban on a fired Pittsburgh police sergeant from possessing guns as part of a protection-from-abuse order against him.

Common Pleas Judge Kathryn Hens-Greco modified the protection- from-abuse order to allow Eugene Hlavac to possess guns. Hlavac, 42, of Squirrel Hill said the move was a step in his effort to get his job back.
