When Lexi Marx plugs into her MP3 player on the bus ride home from North Hills Junior High School, she isn't listening to the latest song from The Black Eyed Peas -- she's learning about carbohydrates through a podcast made by her classmates.

"It's easier to hear and understand biology than to have to just read about it in a textbook and understand it," said Marx, 14, of West View. "It's easier just hearing it from a fellow classmate in layman's terms. It makes us understand it better."
