Summary
The news was not all good Sunday for the Steelers despite the 38- 13 beating they gave the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium. Veteran nose tackle Chris Hoke sprained his knee toward the end of the game, coach Mike Tomlin said. Hoke, who started last week against the Tennessee Titans and played extensively yesterday in place of Casey Hampton, is likely out for Sunday's game against the visiting Baltimore Ravens. If Hoke doesn't play, the Steelers may have to sign defensive tackle Steve McLendon from their practice squad to add depth.
An offensive line that struggled with dehydration issues the previous week in Nashville was not hindered by the heat and humidity in Tampa. The Steelers averaged a robust 6.3 yards per carry. In addition to paving the way for a 143-yard rushing performance by Rashard Mendenhall, the offensive line did not allow a sack for the first time since Nov. 29, 2009. "They upheld the performance, so it was a good performance," Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said of the offensive line.See the full content of this document
