The Lawrence County district attorney intends to seek the death penalty against at least one of two suspects charged with killing a 15-year-old girl nearly 20 years ago.District Attorney Josh Lamancusa filed notice on Tuesday of aggravating circumstances against Sean M. McDonough, 38, formerly of Hickory, in the slaying of Laura Lynn Thompson in 1993. Such notice is required in all death penalty cases.
Lamancusa said on Wednesday that he has not decided whether to pursue a capital case against the second suspect, Joseph Marshall Jr., 39, of Pulaski. He has until March 8, when the two are formally arraigned, to decide.See the full content of this document
