A magnetically levitating train that would run between Pittsburgh International Airport and Greensburg will get $28 million in federal funding for further study, members of Pennsylvania's congressional delegation announced Thursday.
The grant from the Federal Railroad Administration will allow the $5.25 billion Pennsylvania High-Speed Maglev project to keep inching forward with its plans for a 54-mile, high-tech, high-speed train that hovers a few centimeters above a friction-free track by the use of magnets.
