Summary
I will never know the anguish of sending a child to war. I will never experience the tension that creates. My mom understood. She waited each day of my childhood for the mailman to arrive and bring news of her two sons in Vietnam.
She was military, as well, having served as a WAAC in World War II. She taught her five children responsibility, duty and, significantly, how important it is, in all situations, to have as sense of humor. Mom passed away more than a decade ago and, being a war hero, is interred at Arlington National Cemetery.See the full content of this document
