* According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Ronny Paulino's .311 batting average is the second-highest among catchers who played in at least 100 games their rookie season in the Division Era (post- 1969). The leader is Mike Piazza, who batted .318 for the Dodgers in 1993. Thurman Munson hit .302 in 1970 for the Yankees. Jason Kendall (.300 in 1996) ranks seventh.

* Paulino is batting .326 (71 for 218) at PNC Park this season.
