Summary
* Rookie forward Tyler Kennedy was reassigned to Wilkes-Barre/ Scranton of the AHL on Friday. Kennedy has not played since Jan. 18 due to mononucleosis. Coach Michel Therrien said Kennedy was not on a conditioning assignment. "He's down there because he needs to play," Therrien said. "If he plays well he will be rewarded." Kennedy opened the season in the AHL but became a fixture in the Penguins' lineup in mid-November. He has scored eight goals and recorded 12 points in 31 games with the Penguins.
* Therrien said the Penguins' weekend task -- afternoon games against Los Angeles and Philadelphia on consecutive days -- would require players to turn in early last night. "It's a big weekend," Therrien said. "It will be a challenge." Therrien said there was no chance the Penguins would overlook the Kings with a showdown against the Flyers looming Sunday. "We understand the purpose of every game," Therrien said. "I am convinced our focus will be on (the Kings.) We'll think about the Flyers Saturday night."See the full content of this document
