Summary


For almost 20 years, journalist Margaret Lowrie Robertson carried the first page of her first novel with her as she traveled the world, from Beirut to Cairo to Amman. And finally, when she settled at her current residence in London, Robertson kept the page, and her idea, close at hand.

It wasn't until 9-11 that a story about journalists working in Beirut at the time of the 1983 bombing of the U.S. Marine barracks made sense to her.
