Summary


Although Ed Young's career in electronics took him far in TV broadcasting, he also will be remembered for servicing the first TV set in the Truman White House.

"In 1945, following Dad's discharge as an electronic specialist for the Coast Guard, he was summoned to the White House to set up the rabbit ears for President Truman's TV set," said his son, Ted Young of Lynchburg, Va. "He also stayed to have lunch with the president and Mrs. Truman."
