School Board Oks Budget, Raises Taxes in Upper St. Clair

Property owners in Upper St. Clair will pay nearly 1 mill more in school taxes next year, the first increase in four years.

The Upper St. Clair school board on Monday adopted a 2009-10 budget of more than $56.4 million and a tax rate of 23.37 mills. The budget is 2.2 percent higher than the current one, and 0.92 mill tax increase raises the tax rate by 4.1 percent.
