Osha Sues Business Owner in Labor Death

Summary


The Occupational Safety and Health Administration claims in a federal lawsuit filed Wednesday that a Valencia man failed to pay a $539,000 fine levied in the 2009 death of a Butler man.

Carl Beck, 29, fell 42 feet to his death while working on a pitched roof in North Strabane in Washington County. Christopher Franc, 46, pleaded guilty to a criminal charge of failing to provide fall protection; he was sentenced in June to three years of probation.
