Panel Gives Carrick Home Historic Status

Summary


Pittsburgh's Historic Review Commission granted historic status to a Carrick home on Wednesday, despite the owner's assertion that she would be hurt financially by such a decision.

"While I recognize the value of preserving history, I strongly object to my property being designated as a historic structure as this designation will irreparably harm me and my already strained finances," Grace E. McClory, 88, wrote in a letter to the commission.
