The members of Penn Hills Volunteer Fire Co. No. 6 are celebrating the department's 80th anniversary by doing what comes naturally for its all-volunteer corps -- adding ways to safeguard the community.
"There had been a number of discussions about the need to have crews available to respond quickly when emergency medical technicians are tied up on another call or need help at the scene," said Chris McNamara, president of No. 6.
