Cows have been quarantined on a Tioga County farm after state Department of Agriculture staff discovered the animals may have come in contact with wastewater from a natural gas drilling operation.
Uncertainty over the amount of wastewater the 28 cows may have consumed warranted the quarantine, to protect the public from potentially contaminated beef, state officials said.
