Pension Bill 'Neutered' On Labor Provisions

HARRISBURG -- A new version of pension legislation gives Pittsburgh a two-year exemption from state takeover and strips out language offensive to labor unions, officials said.

"No other municipality would be taken over -- just Pittsburgh, after a two-year period," said Johnna Pro, spokeswoman for House Appropriations Chairman Dwight Evans, D-Philadelphia.
