BLOCK THAT KICK: Pitt set a single-season school record for blocked kicks with nine after having two against Cincinnati. Linebacker Greg Williams blocked a 50-yard field-goal attempt by Cincinnati's Jake Rogers at 4:47 of the third quarter, and linebacker Nate Nix partially blocked a Kevin Huber punt at 5:39 of the fourth. It broke the previous mark of eight, set in 1987.
