An attorney for the city of Pittsburgh told state Commonwealth Court on Tuesday that an arbitration panel should be forced to consider a protection-from-abuse order in deciding whether Sgt. Eugene Hlavac should be fired.
Hlavac, 44, was reinstated to the force in April after being fired nearly two years ago under the city's zero-tolerance policy on domestic violence.
