Summary
It is distressing that many Americans seem to think that viewing pornography is a First Amendment right. It is also vexing to read that columnist Dimitri Vassilaros actually thinks that James Madison would have wanted to protect pornographic images or literature as free speech ("Make-believe free speech," Oct. 1 and PghTrib.com).
First of all, if one considers the history of, and reads, the Magna Carta, the Petition of Right, the English Bill of Rights and our own Bill of Rights, he would easily conclude that these grand documents have nothing to do with the desires of the flesh and everything to do with political, legal and religious rights.See the full content of this document
