Prosecutors Reach Deal in Greensburg Embezzlement Case

Federal prosecutors on Wednesday dropped a felony theft charge against a Greensburg man accused of stealing nearly $700,000 from one health care company he headed, allowing another of his companies to plead guilty.

President U.S. District Judge Donetta Ambrose placed The Wellington Healthcare Group of South Greensburg on probation for a year and ordered it to pay $114,805 in restitution. Domenick A. Meffe Sr., 69, who served as CEO of the defunct company, wrote a personal check to cover the amount.
