Quarantine On Wood From Ash Trees Expands to Washington and Armstrong Counties

A state-imposed quarantine of firewood and wood chips from ash trees was expanded Monday to Washington and Armstrong counties, where emerald ash borer beetles have been found, state Agriculture Secretary Dennis Wolff said.

The quarantine -- which restricts the movement of ash nursery stock, green lumber and any other ash material, including logs, stumps, roots and branches, and all wood chips -- was expanded after the beetles were found near Finleyville and the Armstrong County community of Brownstown.
